Eden Valley
Terry’s Great Grandfather jumped from a British Naval Ship and swam through shark infested waters to reach Australia. If he hadn’t done that then our wines would not be available and so our Shiraz is simply called ‘Jump Ship’.
Tasting Notes
The ‘Jump Ship’ Shiraz is named after the family’s Great Grandfather’s way of leaving his British war ship and arriving in Australia. Being a 2012 wine, this is a fully mature cellar release to showcase how well our Shiraz can cellar and develop.
This Shiraz is made from premium, single vineyard grapes grown in the cool climate of Eden Valley. The vines are hand pruned and the grapes are hand-picked. The wine has an excellent developing red colour which belies its age, a complex bouquet which is starting to show some bottle age characters and a hint of sweet spices.
The palate is very smooth, rich and complex with layers of flavours, superbly balanced and ending with a tightish finish.
