Single Box Maximus Cabernet Sauvignon

The 2017 Maximus Cabernet Sauvignon is made from premium, single vineyard grapes grown in the cool climate of Eden Valley. The vines are hand pruned and the grapes are hand-picked.

At this stage of its development this Cabernet has a lovely, bright purple colour. There are red berry aromas on the bouquet with fine vanillin oak and a hint of plums and spice.

On the palate it is rich, deep and gorgeous, with a hint of fruit sweetness on the front palate, layers of appealing flavours with a long, tight, lingering finish.

Tasting Notes

Wine Making

The grapes were hand harvested, fermented then gently pressed in our traditional basket press before maturing for 24 months in new French oak barrels.

Cellaring

If cellared correctly, this wine will have a great future in front of it. It will continue to evolve and become more complex over the next few years and develop into a sensationally, sophisticated Cabernet.

Food Suggestion

Currently this wine will go exceedingly well with all but the very spiciest of meat or vegetarian dishes. Over time it will become more and more attractive to enjoy on its own with good friends.
