2017 Jump Ship Shiraz

Eden Valley

Terry’s Great Grandfather jumped from a British Naval Ship and swam through shark infested waters to reach Australia. If he hadn’t done that then our wines would not be available and so our Shiraz is simply called ‘Jump Ship’.

Tasting Notes

This wine is made from premium, single vineyard grapes grown in the cool climate of Eden Valley. The vines are hand pruned and the grapes hand-picked.
It has a sensational purple colour, alluring, plummy, pepper and spice aromas with just a hint of vanillin oak. It has delightful, rich, smooth flavours with a tight, grippy finish that really lingers.

Wine Making

The grapes were hand harvested, fermented then gently pressed in our traditional basket press before maturing for 18 months in a combination of new and pre-used French oak barrels.

Cellaring

This is great Shiraz which will be even greater with another 2-4 years of patience as it mellows and develops more depth and complexity.

Food Suggestion

This wine is robust enough to be a great accompaniment to all but the spiciest of food dishes. An ideal wine with stews and barbeques.
